Where you can and cannot smoke in Singapore
Smoking where it is prohibited is a S$200 composition fine, or up to S$1,000 if it goes to court. E-cigarettes and vapes are not covered by these rules because they are banned altogether. Customs and vapes
No smoking
- Inside buildings, shopping malls included, except in indoor smoking rooms; and inside taxis and private-hire cars on a paid trip
- Within five metres of the entrances, exits, windows and air intakes of buildings where smoking is prohibited
- Bus stops, bus shelters and within five metres of a bus pole; bus interchanges
- Covered linkways, overhead bridges, covered or underground walkways, and queues
- Food places and hawker centres, except in an approved smoking corner
- All parks, gardens and nature reserves run by the National Parks Board; playgrounds and swimming pools
- Ten beaches: Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong on Sentosa, and Changi, East Coast, West Coast, Sembawang, Pasir Ris, Coney Island and Punggol
- The public areas of the Orchard Road precinct, a No Smoking Zone: there, only in its designated smoking areas
- Ferry terminals, among them HarbourFront, Tanah Merah and Changi Point
Where smoking is allowed
- Smoking rooms, corners and designated smoking areas: at Changi Airport, in entertainment outlets, approved corners at food places, and the designated areas inside the Orchard Road zone
- Open, unsheltered public spaces and uncovered walkways, except in the Orchard Road zone, and not within five metres of a prohibited building's entrances
