Jalan Besar is Malay for big road, taken to mean main road: a one-way road between Rochor Canal Road in Rochor and Lavender Street in Kallang, and the district along it. Jalan Besar station (Downtown Line) is under the road where it meets Weld Road, but from the centre point we use Farrer Park, Bendemeer and Lavender are each closer, all under 600 m. Jalan Besar Stadium is 110 m from that point, the Sri Perumal Temple and the Sakya Muni Buddha Gaya Temple are within 480 m, and Berseh Food Centre is 470 m away.
