About

A Buddhist temple set on a small hilltop by Chwee Chian Road, built to remember villagers and Allied and Japanese soldiers who died in the 1942 Battle of Pasir Panjang. Its first abbot, the American monk Sumangalo, was the first Westerner to head a Buddhist temple in Singapore.
